So when you get something, you'll want to hold onto it for later.īetween that, the INSANE amount of weapons you have to hold on to if they have decent affixes, because the affix system is clunky, complicated and RNG heavy, meaning you'll want lots of sources of the affixes you want, and your small storage space, it can take 3+ hours just to sort out all the hundreds of "rare" weapon drops you'll pick up in a week. Why do I need to proactively hold onto them? Because harvesting has "stamina" like some mobile gacha game, so if you need a material for a question, you can drain stamina twice (like I did yesterday) and still not get the item you need.
REDDIT PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 FULL
That's absolutely insane that I could be using almost a full character storage worth of slots just to hold crafting materials. Out of the 100+ things I have, NONE were the 5 he wanted. I probably have over 100 different harvested materials in my stash, I talk to the guy that wants harvested materials for his timelocked quests. But the inventory management of PSO2 is a bridge too far. I play it on Ephinea server rarely when I have a nostalgia itch. I've had no problems with other mmos' targetting, I just can't deal with it in this game. This is on the top of the camera bugging out or just behaving weird btw, I fucking hate the targetting in this game. The other half is 12 people spamming abilities on the screen, and I can't see what the fuck is happening. Half the time I can't tell when a boss is going to do something because either the animation is too stiff or the sound design isn't as sharp as more modern games. The game is just too old for me to feel engaged with the bosses and raids. There's events and shit that helps get people to congregate in certain areas, and people are actually encouraged to socialize now and then. Looking at the future PVP content, it looks like you just get a basic preset/loadout and you can't actually use your abilities that you would normally have in regular content.įor me personally, it's primarily just a casual social dress-up game with extra steps. There's no real life skills as far as I know. There is gathering but it's stamina-gated and it's only there for the purpose of acquiring endgame min-max gear. It's a fucking mess, but I applaud the people who make the game somehow look smooth as hell in showcase videos. There are no options to increase FOV, and the "free-aim" mode makes your screen zoom-in. Say you want to lock onto a certain body part, but then the game forces you have to spam tab a few times to get to the correct area. People say you get used to it, but the camera control is by far one of the most frustrating clunky things in the game. I mostly have issues with the targetting in this game. The UI is incredibly dated and a nightmare to navigate without some guide telling you where something is.Ĭombat in PSO2 is awkward, but it gets better when you start obtaining more abilities and skill passives. You need to get used to a LOT of things about the game before it starts coming together. PSO2 definitely suffers from its age and people telling you otherwise are absolutely lying. It feels like a watered-down Monster Hunter but with DMC combat. I've been playing the NA version for like a month now. But that's when I heard of this game.Just wondering now if it's worth trying.

Which good PVP is a must for me in a game too. I haven't tried Black Desert 2 b/c I've heard it's kind of pay to win esecpailly for PVP. I really enjoyed Mabinogi's other aspects like cooking, blacksmithing, etc. Also Runescape with all those different life skills as well. I loved the freedom of choice and how it affected everything in Divinity Original Sin (I know it's not an MMO). In terms of other aspects I really enjoyed the dynamic events in GW2. Fast paced and so many options to branch out.I really liked the progression of different skills.

I really enjoyed Tera combat but the rest of the game was kind of meh.Īlso, I loved dragonnest combat. To kind of give you an idea of what I like. I am interested in an MMO with action combat but I want a polished one with lots of players.Īlso, I heard this game is almost a decade old.so that's kind of offputting too. And will it become a big game with a large playerbase now that it is out?
